Energy metabolism
Whole-body composition, using EchoMRI in awake mice (non-invasive analysis of lean mass, fat mass and free body fluids).
Indirect calorimetry using the Oxymax Comprehensive Lab Animal Monitoring System (CLAMS), 8 cages, to measure energy metabolism (VO2, VCO2, respiratory quotient, heat), feeding, drinking, urine and spontaneous locomotor activity.
Exercise training (treadmill), can be coupled to indirect calorimetry to measure energy expenditure and substrate selection during exercise.
Spontaneous locomotor activity and body temperature (Online monitoring using indwelling probes).
